XJR6 Power Seat Retrofit Project: help needed
Hello all,
I recently bought a set of seats out of an X300 XJR6 with the intention to retrofit them into my 1984 Series 3. They came out of a 95 or 96 model year and have heated and power functions.
My intention is to retain all the electric functionality (seat motors, lumbar, etc). I am not concerned with keeping the memory function as I am the only one who drives the car, but keeping the heated and lumbar function would be nice too.
As it sits, I have the complete driver's and passenger's front seats, including the seat control module under each, and the harness that connects to the rest of the chassis. I cut that harness about 6" past the connector to be able to make connections appropriately.
My question is this: Is the seat capable of functioning if it is fed fused 12V+ and ground to the proper pins? Theoretically it should be able to do so outside of the donor vehicle as long as the seat control module is the one that controls the motors via switches.
