2000 XJ8 ABS Unit Part Question

With my 2000 XJ8 (with traction control), I have gotten the typical ABS light and the TRAC/ASC message. In trying to fix the problem, I seem to have discovered a conflict with the installed parts. Both the ABS pump and ABS control module appear to be from a prior VIN.
My car's VIN ends in F04288, which seems to imply it should have ABS pump MNF5920 AD (Jag OEM# JLM21322) and ABS module LNF2210AD (Jag OEM# JLM21323). These are specified for VIN's F00035 onwards.
However, my car has ABS pump MNF5920 AB and ABS control module LNF2210AB. These seem to relate to the previous VIN series, ending in 878717.
I am looking at getting a replacement part, but don't know which to get. If I get the one for my VIN series (JLM21323/LNF2210AD) will it work with the different ABS pump? If not, should I get both the ABS pump and ABS module together? I know the parts are VIN specific, so it is confusing why mine appear not to match. I have found some online, but it is difficult to find the one which matches what is currently installed. There are many more of the later VIN series (F00035 onwards). Any insights would be appreciated.
As a note, my mechanic attempted to repair the existing Module, but without success. Therefore, I am not sure I can still send it off to one of the places that rebuilds them, as he seemed to think it could not be fixed. This is why I am looking at getting a replacement.

I have worked with these units, and think at one point I heard that there is a memory module that needs programming when you start switching control units, etc. I did not respond to this when I saw it last night because I think this is a tough one. Hopefully we have a dealer mechanic reading that will throw a bone...but I would bet it will require programming at the dealer....
