I can't remove the CD cassette from the unit in the trunk. I press the little button but nothing happens.

Is there a way to 'ease' the cassette out?

 

This may sound stupid, but are you sure you have the door completely open? if it's blocking the cartridge it won't come out.

 

I removed the player from the car. Removed the lid. slowly moved the large sprocket on top until it was completely free. With the cassette removed, I sprayed silicone spray on all the moving parts. It now works fine
