Default Cricket in the air vent!!!

Has anyone else come across this? turn on the heating/cooling fan and I get a sound like a cricket coming from the left hand dash vent! this becomes more apparent going round right hand bends.
Im assuming its the fan because it decreases in intensity when I turn down the fan speed,I know its not that big a deal but it can get irritating on a long trip, just wondered if anyone else has had this, and before anyone says it im sure its not a real insect!!!

sorry,I meant to say, its an 1998 xj8 soveriegn 4.0L

I also have a horrible chirp in the left dash area of my 01 XKR. But mine is related to the road surface and usually doesn't start until having been driven some distance. I cant pinpoint the exact source, almort sounds like a bad pinch weld. Anyone?

I used to get that in my mid 90's Explorer - fan motor bearing that made noise primarily when turning right - the load on the bearing was just right to make it chirp under that condition.

LOL, Yes! I AM going to check he fan, just to make sure that my right turn scenario isn't really coming from there... wouldn't that be a simple mis-diagnosis?
