Funny solution to saggy headliner
 

Since the x308 is a steel body, the guy in this video seems to have stuck a bunch of neodymium magnets to the ceiling to effectively hold up the roof-liner, lol.

Creative, albeit quite a ghetto solution...

Wouldn't the twisty thumb tacks work better? That's what I've got on mine until I bother to properly fix

The magnets would have to be really strong to stick to the roof through the fibreglass panel the material is fixed to. When I bought my XJ Sport, the previous owner had proudly "fixed" the sagging roof liner by having "fir trees" inserted to hold up the material. He thought it looked very nice, I thought it looked like a bad sofa from the mid 70's, plus it was stained from tobacco smoke from one of the previous owners. Thankfully I had the roof liner out of my old XJ which I had recovered with new material and stuck on with modern temperature resistant glue by a professional trimmer.

What's that thing on the ceiling above your B pillar? Mine doesn't have that...

If I remember right, there's a pretty decent gap between the headliner and the roof (try pushing up on the headliner) so it's have to be a pretty strong magnet to stick through the air gap. Unless they removed the headliner and stuck magnets on both sides in pairs? But at that point rattle can adhesive is cheaper

It's the interior motion sensors for the alarm system, there's one on the other side too. The USA got a very basic security for some reason whereas the uk cars got a comprehensive system including tilt sensor, secondary back up alarm and double locking feature.

My headliner is slightly sagging in the passenger rear also. To avoid using buttons/snaps/staples/magnets/etc, I have a dream of finding the right "strap" material or bands, that would hold the headliner up attractively, tucked into the rubber door trim on each side. Kind of like the carton or pallet straps one sees, on large boxes. They would probably need to be metal, and have no bends or imperfections, to provide upward bow strength toward the roof. Maybe 2 or 3 straps is all that would be needed, and they could be painted.
Crazy idea, or has anyone tried this?
