There is some good information here about programming the remote for several of the Jaguar cars from 1998 through 2005. Several models share the same proceedure. I programmed a remote on a 2003 Jaguar XJ8 and decided to do a video explaining and showing how it is done. For those that don't catch on quick (like me).
