Default Instrument cluster wood removal?

How do I get the wood around the instrument cluster off on an X308 (2003 XJR)? I pulled as hard as I thought safe and it won't budge. Am I just not pulling hard enough? Can it be pried off?

thanks

Set the steering wheel to the lowest position and switch off the ignition.

The Instrument Pack veneer is secured with four Trim Clips:

A view of a Trim Clip is circled in red.

The veneer is on a metal backing so it's stronger than you may think but can still easily be scratched.

Check this video on removing the centre veneer on an XK8. The method is the same and it shows the back of the panel and the Clips. Click on the asterisk to run it:

Be careful - the Clips are spring steel and sharp!

Default thank you, cluster removal

Thank you very much, I am deciding whether I should attempt a cluster removal on a 2009 vdp, the message center is dim in one half and very hard to read in the daylight. I don't know if it's a bulb or led.

Thanks again my friend
