Default Replacing the MAF sensor connector.

Greetings!.. I am new to the forum and I can't seem to find any information on this topic. I did a tune up on my 2003 X308 VDP with 146k and upon removing the Intake manifold on the right side, I had to remove two electrical connectors. When I pulled on them, the housing broke off. I am able to connect them back but, they do not click in. I am afraid with the vibration they would come off. Can some one share some information on how to fix them or perhaps replace them. Do I have to remove the black tape surrounding the wires in order to get to the connection or can I just replace the surrounding?...Thanks in advance..

You might be able to cut a used connector off a junked car, then cut the broken one off and splice the new one in. I'm pretty new to Jags, but I have see other connectors where you can use a really small screw drivers to push the pins out of the old connector and then replace just the housing, but depending on where you get your new housing from, you would also risk cracking the housing on the new connector. If you do splice a new connector on, be sure to leave yourself plenty of wire to be able to splice with.

I have noticed that there are several connectors in my car that don't click into place anymore. The plastic becomes rather brittle over the years. On these I have just push it on as far as i can and so far haven't had any issues with them coming loose.

Whatever is left of the connector, just use a small dab of silicone sealer. It'll stay in place.
