SIII fuel tank into SI fittings source?
 

Anyone know where to get fittings for series III tank fuel line? I am putting one in drivers side of my 73 series I and would like to use the original metal fuel line instead of the fatter SIII hose, as it's going to the mechanical fuel pump.

Just went to Napa Autoparts but no joy there.

Hope you have the later filler caps to go with the new S3 tanks?

Is what you are showing what you need? That looks like the fittings out of the Series 3 tank.. One that is the larger supply line and the other return that goes across the muffler... I have those I think.. Or are you looking for something else..

Hi David - I'm looking for a fitting that fits the SIII tank thread but will allow me to plumb in the old series I fuel line, which is a smaller thread. The fatter shorter fitting in the pic is the SIII fuel injection fitting, metal fuel line is the SI, which is what I want to connect to the SIII tank.

I'm confused, you are asking for the fittings but you have them already? Or is this someone else's images?

A salvage yard/breaker is probably your best best. You will likely have to talk to someone because its a random part that wouldn't be listed online.

The fatter fitting is what was originally threaded into the SIII tank. It has a spigot to attach a rubber fuel line.
The longer metal fitting is what was threaded into my original SI tank, which I have removed due to rust and holes.
what I need is something that will screw into the series III tank but allow for the thinner metal fuel line which goes to the fuel pumps under the boot/trunk floor.
Somewhere out there is a threaded male connector/adapter that will allow this, and it won't be an original part ...

What you are searching for is a flare reducer bushing. Try searching Parker Hannifin fittings on line catalog. Another good source is McMastercarr.com> you may have to use a couple of fittings to get to where you need to be. You could also stop by the local hydraulic shop that makes hoses they may have adapters.

Thanks! Good idea, I can swing by Royal Brass next week and take my two fittings and see if I can get something organized. I was on McMaster earlier in week but couldn't see anything that might work.

I would advise to get back to original condition. The electronic SU fuel pumps are around $250 each. The original wiring just switches between pumps. The valves in the pumps stop tranfer between tanks. I still have my original tanks after 48 years, new pumps and lines from tanks to pump. That is all. Am sending you a pm.
