Has anyone removed the sound deadening from behind the dash? Im thinking about tackling this soon as i want to repaint my interior. Also im think about adding in a kneebar? any pros or cons? i dont have the stock hvac unit or blowers in the car, and at best i think i would retrofit something that would just have heat as i dont have an ac in the engine bay anymore. but for now no heat or ac

I don't recall any insulation behind the dash, insulation in my '84 starts halfway down the firewall, an insulated rubber panel on each side kept in place by plastic plugs.

theres a piece stuck on the trans tunnel below where the HVAC unit would sit, the insulation under the seat is easy to remove but this stuck on stuff is tricky, i dont want to get stuck scraping and cleaning gunk if i can avoid it

leave it alone, not worth the trouble, the transmission tunnel has yute insulation and the sticky rubberized stuff over it.

under the front seats and the rear floor, there are foam pads, not glued to the floor. Correct?

there is foam strips in the grooves of the floor. and id like to remove all of it, i do not want to paint over it, i thnk that would really take away from all the other effort going into the interior

Dry ice will shrink and crack the sticky stuff.
