An trivial and slightly embarrassing question!
Is there a secret to removing the Series 3 door trim? Removed the door handle, and the outer studs have released ok, however the trim seems to be fastened somewhere behind the pocket/speaker area. Is there a clip holding the middle part of the trim to the door? Don't want to force it and break something, but it doesn't want to shift.
Cheers,

There are (at least) a couple door trim designs for the Series III with different attaching hardware.
I'll assume that your Sov has the upper-spec trim where the handle/armrest is entire separate from the cubby.
If I'm correct......
In the area right above the speaker there's a 2" wide steel tab that inserts in a strap on the door itself....with the small strap forming a slot. Think "Tab A into Slot B" sort of thing.
Lift the entire door card upwards. That should disengage the tab from the slot
Cheers

Thanks Doug. Your description of the trim is correct, and the tab/slot set-up makes sense as that is exactly where it feels fastened. Maybe a pump of WD40 in there and a lot more more force required I think! The trims obviously haven't been off for some time.

Here's a pic showing the tab. I had forgotten that there's another clip thingy attached to the tab which might account for your difficulty....or maybe not. I can't quite remember what purpose it serves. it was some time ago that I removed the panels
Well, anyhow, the pic will help you visualize what you're up against, hopefully
Cheers
