I am looking for:

Crankshaft Damper XJ12 V 6.0 1994

New or used

Can you help with that?

Keith 11-01-2013 06:46 AM

No longer available new, and what's available used is probably as bad or worse than what you have. Better to have it rebuilt. I found a place that did a great rebuild, for a little over $100.00. Contact me if you want the source. Keith

Thank you. But my damper is not posible to rebuilt. destroyed

One's come up on e-bay...won't be cheap to ship but then again probably not a lot of choices.

Genuine Jaguar XJR s V12 6 Litre Pulley Pully XJRS Crank Shaft Damper | eBay

If it's just the rubber in between, it is rebuild able. If the metal parts are bent, then maybe not. The rebuild process replaces the rubber.

The 94 will have a serpentine belt not a V pulley.

baxtor 11-02-2013 07:10 AM

Well you learn something every day. As the dampers are totally different mount I was told they were not compatible. The 6.0 did away with the collet type fitting.

baxtor 11-03-2013 02:57 AM

You are correct regarding the collet being omitted Warren but the internal dimensions end up the same. That part of the crank is identical on both and I did check and then checked again. I have noticed some parts supplies note the dampers are not interchangable, don't know why cause it does fit.

I have a 89 xjs 5.3 that I bought for parts for my 89 xjs. I will be getting to breaking this car down after I rebuild the rear calipers in mine after turkey day... I am willing to provide parts at reasonable prices plus actual shipping prices to all on the forum.... It will probably be after the first of the year. AFIK, everything was working. If something is not, I will refund all but shipping.... Interior pretty well shot in the parts car. body is in good shape, good glass, etc. Just let me know !!

Just google "Jaguar Heaven" and you can hit the link on the top of the page.

That was five years ago. I was on a jaguar parts day in the UK and bought two there.

mghirsch 01-19-2019 11:02 AM

There are places the rebuild the damper. You can google them.
