The last time I drove this car was several months ago. I remember getting codes from it. Now when I start up the car all it says is "check engine" then disappears. How do I check for codes?

 

When you turn the key to "run" without starting, it should show the codes on the trip computer. If i remember correctly

 

Correct. Also, if the battery is disconnected (or goes totally dead) that will clear codes as well.

 

Ok, thanks! Being I am working on my car a lot lately and I'm always disconnecting my battery it is being cleared a lot. Although, I do drive it around daily, so if I have any codes, they should show up. I just came back from about 1/2 hour drive. The computer said "check engine" then went off, so I guess that is a good thing.
