Injector connector

Will EV1 connectors fit the fuel injectors on my 77 XJS 5.3 V12 , if not can someone kindly tell me what type I need to get.

EV1 will fit, but the correct ones are from AMP for Bosch injectors. Loads of results for them if you google 'em

Thanks Daim , I have seen some on ebay that use the term AMP and EV1 in the same description ! at a good price but they will take around 3-4 weeks to arrive and I would hate to wait that long to find that they don't fit , I could have peeked over Grant's fence if he still had an xjs .

I know there are sources for the original style plugs, but I had a hard time finding them. EV1 returns all manner of varieties. If you exclude Alibaba results (I don't need 10,000 thanks) Then you get infinity other varieties.

Many of the styles will not work for the injectors on the XJS HE. If they have any kind of profusion on the bottom (the un-notched side) they'll collide with the injector hold-down plates. All the ones that have the release spring raised will hit.

I used the side release style and like them. But they have two, functionless, 2mm x .5mm fin-like protrusions on the bottom. Despite being so tiny, they still hit the hold-down plate and stopped the plug seating or clipping into place. I nip them off and the plug snaps on very securely. I like the springy release handles better then the pull and yaw off kind too. You can't pull these off.

Just make sure they have a flat bottom.

There is something about connectors:

Thanks Jig Jag , very useful information , unfortunately I have already ordered them and they do have the spring on the top but the bottom appears flat . they where quite cheap so it won't be a major disaster just a time delay . I have had my XJS for no less than 37 years and did not drive it for 16 years , now I can't wait to get it back on the road . Your information will be appreciated by some one else when they search the forum . John

Roman thanks also , I could not find any info on the forum before this time . I have checked out the link you posted and if the connectors I have ordered are NBG I will know what to order next time. John

Maybe next time :)
I know Your impatience, my Jag was out of the road only 4 years and this spring I am as a little boy, because I have a old new toy.

Hi Roman
You hit the nail right on the head I am impatient to drive the car again , if you look at the numbers you will see that I had it on the road for 21 years and it always felt like I bought it yesterday , not many cars can do that .Thanks again , I had a look at the ebay site and if the ones I have ordered don't work out , I will get those.
One thing about being a little boy with your car is I am confident in saying that almost all of us on this forum are the same so we are in good company. :)
