Hello everyone.

So I have a Jaguar XJS convertibility from 1991. It had not been started in a while. When I attempted to start it it would not start.

After speaking with some people we believe it to possibly be an immobilizer problem. However I have no immobilizer key.

Does anyone know what the immobilizer does or anything that could help me solve the problem?

It might help if you say where you are. Is it a '91 USA 1990 build pre facelift or a '91 build facelift ? If its a facelift you could try unplugging the big white connector in the boot/trunk near the antenna. This goes to the alarm box and will disable it.

Do you have the keyfob remote ? Have you found the big connector ?
