I "inherited" my XJS from a fellow expat who got shipped out for a reasonable fee and it ran sweet (other than battery problems) for a good while.

But I then encountered intermittent power outs/almost dies, not from cold (though its never that cold here), which my mechanic attributed to the MAF. I sourced a recond one and got that shipped here, fitted it myself, and again all seemed ok until I sent it in for service recently and the mechanic said I had a MAF problem still.

Symptoms now are similar to before but I don't seem to get the power drops, its more of when tis run (and it runs smoothly) and I stop, say to fuel up, it won't restart - leave it for ~30mins and it starts on 2nd attempt.

Tried searching and whilst there are similar issues they seem more for XJ6 than the XJS. Any diagnostics I can do before I go and get another MAF, which I'm not so sure anymore is the issue.
