Default My 87 XJS starts and idles, but has no power whats so ever

Wondering what it could be, I just purchased a 87 Jag XJS coupe that will start and idle , but once you go to take off , it seems that it can't get out of its own way, like it has no power or something

Off the cuff I'd say "lack of fuel".

Clogged filter, lack of fuel pressure.... throttle position sensor problem perhaps.

Was the car sitting unused for a long time before you got it?

Cheers

Well, you gotta start somewhere so I'd pull the fuel filter (it's behind the spare tire) and empty the contents into a clean, clear container. What you see will dictate your next steps.
