Not Jaguar Related - What are these things?
Hi Guys,
Saw these at a local yard sale. The brushes appear to be made of fine stainless steel. They are about 4 feet long and the brushes are about 5 inches in diameter. The bracket are made of aluminum and look like they were designed to bolt on to something. These look professionally made, not something someone did in their garage. Any one know what these are? https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...e854fb738e.jpg |
I don't know, but there used to be a forum with a perpetual 'identify this item' thread. Try arstechnica.com

My guess and thinking.
1. Not necessarily pro made. A skilled DIY guy/gal could do this. 2. The brackets have hoes suggesting that they mount to a surface. 3. Those are bristle brushes. 4. Use is a final wipe of a curved channel on a production line. 5. But what channel remains a question. 6.My only conclusion is that they are intended to wipe. CArll |

I would put it in front of the house and shined shoes in the snowy winter.

The brushes are steel? I have seen similar devices intended to mount on the top of the mast of a sailboat, that were intended to dissipate static electricity, to help prevent lightning strikes. I have no idea if they were effective.

If so, why are the brushes curved? Were they meant to follow the contour of something? The mystery continues. Mark |
