No snow, no salt on the roads...why is she sitting still?!

Looks great in Spindrift White! You see hardly any late XJS in white in the UK.

The weather seems fine. So go and get that split in the lower front corner of the bumper sorted before it gets any worse! :icon_wink:

Its the only car I drive on weekdays. I drive my Alfa Spider on weekends. The bumper split is next on the list of body repairs along with ding removal. The car was once parked in a parking structure for 5 years under a car cover. So for 5 years people would park next to it and lean their car doors into it. There are about 10 dings on the drivers side that need to be brought out.

Makes me pine for my 94, 6.0 coupe, in glacier.
I also had a 94, 4.0 coupe in glacier that was a donor.

didnt realize it was called spindrift white

Brewtech,

Sorry, I've just realised yours is a 94. In which case it's probably Glacier White. If you look at your trim code, Glacier is NDP whereas Spindrift is NDM

Cheers

Paul

Has anyone tried a kit like this for removing little dents? I'm going to try one in the spring. You use hot glue to stick the plunger to the dent, then squeeze the handles to pull it out. Found this one on Amazon for $40CAD.

I seem to recall buying my dent kit for about $5-$10 from my local parts store. (O'riely)
It's only one of my paint-less dent removal tools.
For some reason, my 94 seemed heavier gauge steel than others.
So I got mixed results with un-denting.
The best time to un-dent is right after denting, before memory sets in.
I have seen and experimented with heating dent with hair drier and rubbing with ice cube.
That actually does work for freshly dented areas where there is no kinks in the metal.

Just enough patina of use. Very nice. Been feeling the XJS urge really strong lately, but looks like an SUV is in the immediate future.

Yes I have one of these kits and have used it on my XJS. Works really well but takes a few goes. Took some small dents out of my bonnet and also the rear wing. Not completely gone but definitely 95% better. With a bit more work I could get them 100%. It’s all a bit of a black art. Have a look on YouTube there’s plenty of videos.
Rob.

3M makes a plastic bumper repair kit. They even have a video. Available from Amazon.

equiprx 12-12-2020 04:24 PM

I have a store near me that only sells autobody supplies and tools.
They had to look at my car to see what the bumper was made of.
After charging me over $40 for the 3M material, I followed the directions to the letter.
None of the it even stuck to the bumper.

I'm going to send back the 3M kit I bought. Thanks for the heads up. You're coup is nice!

Brewtech, those seats are fantastic. Great colour and they look new.

Brewtech 12-15-2020 01:29 AM

Theyre about 2 years old now. I had them redone since the original interior was done. Dirty Mike and the boys probably had an orgy in it at some point. It was bad.
