CATS Suspension Delete

Evening all,

I would like the CATS system deleted as I'm going for some aftermarket struts (don't want to hear people say about it being a bad idea please! As it's not what you think)

I've read that unplugging the ADCM will stop the engine warning light come on on the earlier 4.2 XKR's, I have a 5.0 and have read that the ADCM also controls the Electronic Rear Diff, so ideally i don't want to just unplug it and have done with it! Is there any work around this?? I've looked everywhere but can't find anything! I have SSD and a Mongoose cable..

Thanks in advanced!

Anyone have any information?

I've measured the resistance of the shocks, and found it to be 2.5ohms. If I put a resistor there would that fool the ADCM into thinking theres something there?

You're probably not getting any input cuz people think you're a nutball.

It's to add air ride to it

Yeah, there's another guy on the forum who did that also, Ridicrick is how I think the name is spelled. You could check out his build thread:

He has the 4.2 non supercharged one! The 5.0 is different the way the ADCM works

That resister idea could possibly work. At least it makes sense in my head. I watched one of the Daily Driven Exotics youtube videos awhile back where a guy at AGX (Avant Garde Exotics) used a resister for a similar issue and it fixed it.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I did a resistance test on the shock and it came it at 2.6ohms. So, I've made a ~2.6 ohm resistor with 4 10ohm resistors in parallel lol. Will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens!

Tried the resistor, it didn't work unfortunately.
Found out they've misspelled Adaptive System Error as "Adpative.." wonder how that got through!

pauledddy 07-08-2019 05:01 AM

Anyone have any insight as what to approach next?

That would surprise me, but stranger things have happened.

The rear diff has it's own control module, it's a separate module to the suspension. But it could well be that you will get E-Diff Fault on the dash with the suspension module unplugged, have you tried unplugging the suspension module or not?

Surprises me that the resistor trick didn't work.

Unplugged the ADCM and true enough the E Diff warning light came on a long side the Adaptive warning light. Tried different resistors, ranged from 2.4 to 3.5 ohms. To no avail. Tried connecting the cables together to no avail. I'm stumped!

Tried using SDD to configure the ADCM but it needs to be online in order for that to work. So that's another option down!

Anyone have any ideas? Still can't find anything!

Have you tried contacting Spires in Warwick? They offer after market coilover kits and and Matt was/is a suspension engineer at Jaguar. Also might have a try with Swallows Racing in Bristol As they have a lot of experience with the X150 in racing.
