Just bought my 07xk and one of the few things that I needed to fix on it was the middle console. When I pull up on the lever it allows it to release and move forward or backwards but not up on open. I have to pull very hard to get it to open up and it feels like I'm going to break it. Is the handle supposed to release it in order for it to open as well?

My handle allows the lid to slide forward and back, as well as opening w/o effort. Sounds as if you have a latch issue.
