Hi, everyone!
I've posted a few pictures here hoping you can answer a lingering question I have about the fuel filler neck. After you remove the screw gas cap, there isn't any self-sealing metal piece. The metal tab at the top doesn't appear to open and close. Is this right?

Yeah, looks like mine.
I guess with the cap having to seal air-tight, there was no need for a flap to keep crap from falling in.

I wager it was busted by the previous owner in a moment of fury, when the car refused to give back the bottle of techron.
Its happened to me, but I remembered the trick my jeweler taught me that one makes matters worse by panicking. And worked the bottle out gently.
