Default How many key fobs can i program to my 2007 Jaguar XK

I bought two replacement key fobs for my 2007 Jaguar XK. I was able to program one key but the second one won't work even though it says programming was completed. Before i send back that remote (I did change battery just to rule that out) I wanted to know if the issue is the vehicle only will allow (3) keys to be programmed. If that's the case is it safe to delete all the learned keys and reprogram the three i have? I am using the Autel KM100E.

What is your VIN, and do you have the correct "Keyless Lock Pad" (Smartkey)? Read posts ##4 and 7:

I don't know if your Autel KM100E can completely program your Smartkeys.

Have you tried to dock your Smartkeys in the Emergency Start slot in the center glovebox? Will they work to start your engine? Here's how to check. First, make sure that you have a new, quality brand CR2032 battery properly installed in your Smartkey.

Take the Smartkey with the removeable metal key in place, open the sliding door to the dock and insert the Smartkey with the metal key and ring portion to the top, and the buttons facing the drivers seat. Insert the fob and the dock will grab it and pull it into place on it's own. Then step on the brake pedal, press the start button, and the engine should start. To remove the Smartkey, shut the engine off, press down on the top of the Smartkey, and the dock will take over to release the fob and raise it up. Pull it out by the ring on top of the Smartkey.

Here is an unrelated key fob question. How/can one associate a key fob to a particular driver so that the seat memory information is activated when the linked key fob is used?

thanks,
Michael

I had the dealer do just that... for all my vehicles.

The maximum number is EIGHT. I knew I'd read it somewhere but it took some finding again!
