While I have been a member of the forum since 2013, this is my first post as a Jaguar owner. I found a 2012 Rhodium Silver convertible with black interior and 7,300 miles on the odometer. It is in pristine condition with exception to the top. It shows some wear lines as the previous owner had the top down most of the time. I was strongly considering an XKR but in the end decided it was just too much HP for the Wife.
It is under factory warranty until February and then Jaguar CPO for another 2 years. It is a daily driver for my Wife and since I drive a company car during the week a weekend vehicle for me. I don't mine sharing price, it was $52,500 after negotiation with a decent trade on my prior car.
This is my first time owning a Jaguar. Having come from a BMW 650 that I have owned since 2009 it has been a bit of an adjustment. But I must say I LOVE the way this car drives and also the way it sounds. The exhaust has a much more aggressive sound, the first time my Wife started it in the garage she said "this thing sounds like it has a purpose". I could write a small novel comparing and contrasting the two, but safe to say they are both great cars. My Bimmer being previous generation I don't think it is really fair to compare it head-to-head, really this XK should be compared to the same generation 650. While I love the BMW brand I couldn't buy another 6, I needed some brand variety and the Jag is next-car-up in my rotation.
Oh yeah, the previous owner had the old-school Jaguar emblem put on the hood. I pray no one tears it off, I friend used to have his stolen (20 years ago) all the time.
I to am coming from a 2012 BMW 650I CONV. and brought my first 2014 Black Jaguar XKR Conv. I have owned many BMW cars in the past it was time for a change and now I can say I love the Jaguar even more for it's power and handling.Jguar was alway's my 2nd choose.
