It's hard to tell from the picture in post #133 as it looks like the front of the tire will hit the fender when the wheel moves up and down in the suspension. From the picture it suggests to me that you would need to remove maybe a 1/2" of material in front of the tire. Just curious.

The rims arent actually connected to the hub right now. I have them just sitting up there so they are actually a little farther forward than they are suppose to be. Ill have more detailed pics once I get that far to show how Im doing everything. Its really hard to explain it all on messages.. lol.. But it will clear fine. The front wheel when I turn will be a different story, it may not clear very well when lowered, Ill find out soon enough.

I love it when you think of something in your head, design it and then make it a reality. Its always so rewarding. Yesterday I designed my center console casing for my air ride controller. Ill get pictures of it in the car later tonight after I get it wrapped to match the rest of the console design.

Also this week I got some more goodies in the mail. 2 pairs of carbon fiber winglets for my front and side diffusers. My fender bolts finally came in, fender rubber gaskets, and also the ceramic coating for my wrap and my wheels to protect both of those for a few years and make my job easier with keeping the car clean and shiny.

My CNC'd wing legs came back today. My design worked out pretty well I think with the Jaguar Logo. I wanted to have the Jaguar facing towards the front of the car but in the design it just didnt work and look right. Now to get them powder coated and make new leg base mounts that look much nicer than those blocky ones I currently have. The wing is 67" wide, dam near as wide as the car (before the fender flares). I wanted to make a big decal for the rear of the wing that says #SIZEMATTERS or #SENDNUDES just to be like all the other guys with big wings being silly with their cars.. but then my wife came up with something I thought was even better. She said.. make it say #LargeWang OMG.. I havent laughed that hard in a long time. Now of course this is just temporary and for fun.. I wont always have it on the car. lol

Here are some pics of getting the wing mounted tonight.

That wing is definitely a statement and will be better balanced by the flairs!

Looks like you'll need to add weight to the front of the car to keep the nose on the ground. Yesterday I saw this boy racer with a Mustang and he had a DOUBLE wing. So his wing was bigger then yours ,

How long sis it take to draw the mount on tinkercad? Always looking for something to render easier on versus my seat of OneCNC.

Per the wing, really need to see it outside for proportions and I don't think I would drill it in place until I did. Size isn't horrible, position, height and rear vis would be more of an issue to me. First thoughts are the caps need a more rounded profile that matches the side of the car. The round cutout and hard flat lines just don't match the XKR style.
I am curious about lateral stability, even with the 1/4" wide risers.

Are you going to black out the window trim?

Overall this has been an interesting journey.

Been following what both you and Ranchero have been doing and wanted to say how interesting and inspiring both your projects are!

Don't stop now....keep it comming.

Maybe there should be a section just for X150 mods!

Tonight I painted my trim around the windows and all the metal parts for the spoiler and some other various pieces. Ill have pics later tonight. The end winglets of the spoiler are getting wrapped and will match better, but I wont make them round. The holes in the hatch/trunk are drilled now so once the metals are dry I can piece it all together.

Thanks! This has been loved and hated by many but whatever makes me happy I will do no matter what anyone says. Besides as far as I know nobody has been stupid enough to take a jaguar XK this far with getting wild with it. lol I will keep doing what I am doing until its done and making sure you all see the progress on the way.

Some painting done. Engine paint has never failed me when it comes to chrome trim and metal parts. As long as you prep it correctly with light sanding and the correct self etching primer you will be good for years. Of course powder coating would have been better but thats more money and time.

A little different approach, but thought you might find this one interesting. It's apparently from a car show in Sweden, but I can't find anything more on it.

Update: A little more googling reveals it's by a Swedish customizer named Par Edqvist. Unfortunately, his website (www.pecustom.se) isn't updated and only has pics of some older builds.

Id just like to take a quick moment to thank everyone on this forum and it was cool to see my story of this build on the front page this morning! So far this Forum is the only one that has supported my project while other media outlets like facebook and a few other forums have just blasted me on what I am doing. I totally understand this project is not for everyone but here even the guys that dont agree with it still support me or at least don't say bad things. And for that I thank you, all you guys/gals are awesome!! This forum is hands down the best I have ever been a part of.

Oh and its going to snow here again so I guess it will be a at least a week or so until my car can drive out of its hibernation.

Taste is subjective, but I think most on here can appreciate the degree of skill and thought you're putting into this project. This thread and Ranchero's are two of the best on this forum and are a welcome change from the constant (albeit helpful) threads on battery and water pump issues. I, for one, can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Yep just a matter of taste. Not to many likes Janis Joplin's Porsche either but it sold for $1.8 M

Carry on

I was a bit unsure about your build but it is growing on me except for the wing, still to big!:-D
Not many people would take a grinder and start chopping the fenders of a Jaguar, I salut you for it and keep on going.

I love this thread!:-)

Todays progress. I quickly designed some graphics for the legs and brackets and then printed them. An hour later I had them on the car. The "Made you look" hand symbol is just something funny I wanted to add, I can change them out whenever but Im sure this one will make some people laugh.

And the last pic is one of my wheels with 5 layers of ceramic coating. Flipping unbelievable. Even one layer was amazing looking. I cannot wait to ceramic the entire wrap and carbon fiber. Ill never use wax ever again, not even comparable.
