I may be mistaken, but I don't think the XK has a valley hose, thought that was a XKR hose & problem.

You could be right as I could only find information on the same issue about the XKR. But my symptoms of what happened sounded the same as all the post ive read and on the XK Jaguar facebook page many said it sounds like the valley hose. So idk.. I just really hope I can figure this out ASAP. :( Pretty bummed as I am so dam close to wrapping this project up and enjoying it finally.

There is one more scenario that I never thought about until someone mentions it to me. IS there freeze plugs on these Jaguars? I ask because I bought my car from Florida and I was told by a friend that lives in FL that many people use water for coolant. Well the coolant was clear with a slight pink look to it and no smell at all. My concern is if it was water then that froze over a dozen times this winter while sitting in my garage. Hoping no damage was done and maybe it just blew the freeze plug. And if so where is the freeze plug and how is that fixed? So freeze plug or coolant hose.. either one I guess..

How did you determine the source of the leak? There is a hose below the super charger and it is a labor intensive repair because the supercharger has to come off to get to the hose below, but I don’t believe the hoses are located the same on your car and the leak could be from elsewhere including the throttle body.

It is highly unlikely that there is just water in your engine. Anti-freeze does more than protect the engine from freeze up, it also protects the engine from corrosive water and additionally helps keep the engine cooler. Even in Florida, you need antifreeze.


Windshield washer fluid, on the other hand, is most likely just water.

This is my quick cheesy mock up of where the leak was happening and where it drained down. Excuse my language but I could not see SHIT because of engine components in the way, can barely reach my hand in there. It was pouring out really fast and after 5 minutes was done with just slight dripping still.

If your 'source point' were a little farther down the tranny bell housing, I'd say it was your heater core that was leaking and the fluid was coming out the duck bill (which is centered over the tranny, so it drips/runs down both sides of the housing).

It could from the throttle body hose, the yellow one on your diagram, could be heater, have you looked from above? Until you start taking it apart, it is going to be hard to diagnose. This is probably a good time to replace all of the hoses and thermostat and expansion tank and you'll be god for another 10 years.

The picture you show is right where the coolant flows when the valley hose leaks.

Read the service manual on it. Not a terrible job to do. Blow the top of the engine off with compressed air before starting. Just have some rags handy to cover the intake ports once it's off.

Yes my wheels are ridiculously heavy, not the best for performance. LoL. I have a mechanic coming over tonight thankfully, he is going to look at my car and figure this out for me. He is the awesome guy who rebuilt my air ride struts and some other stuff ive had custom done.

Btw on some good news here is what now works 100% or is almost complete.

My remote control works 100%. I can now lock my car and it turns everything off instantly, including the factory head unit and all electronics.
I did discover I cannot lock my car with the windows down, which makes sense but it was something I didnt think of unitl I finally tried it.

The interior is complete, everything is done and put back together.

My aftermarket stereo is now hooked up to the switching power coming from the unused connection plug by the rear tailight, that worked out amazing. The stereo sounds unbelievable. I however will not turn that sub all the way up as Im sure it will blow out that back window.

My rear bumper and fender flares are getting wrapped tonight which makes the wrap fully done. And then sometime this week the front and side splitters/diffusers get put on.

The air ride suspension hoses and struts are completely installed except I just have to wire it up in the rear hatch yet. Its been a disaster from day one but now that I know all the mistakes made I know what companies to NOT go to and what companies are great...

The WirthCo 20395 Battery Life Preserver came in today and I will install it tonight. This will cut all power from the car if it ever reaches under 12v. I can also cut the power at anytime with the remote it comes with and it will NOT cut the power while the car is running. A friend of mine has this on his corvette and said its a life saver. No more dead battery. And btw my new battery is working amazing, holding the voltages really nice even with the stereo system going, of course the 25 farad capacitor for my stereo also helps out greatly.

Oh and here is a video of me actually doing some work in my car. I work for scientific games and we create and test casino games. I was told there was a glitch in the new monopoly we just released so I decided to test it out... in my car. :)

I wonder why. I always kept the windows down on my '07 XKR when it was parked in the garage so that the air-con wouldn't get musty and would often lock the car using the remote.

Same on my '10 XKR and that has a button on the door handle.

When I have my windows down my car beeps the horn twice and wont let me lock it. As soon as I put up the windows it locks just fine.

It probably just needs a dealer update. Be sure to take it in once finished. :)

I lock mine with the door handle buttons when the top is down.

Unfortunately the XK also has this problem. I just had this fixed on mine.

Got some news on the coolant leak. I had my mechanic buddy come over and he tested the pressure on the leak, its a small enough leak that I can drive it 10 min away to his shop. He sourced the leak to be in the front and its running down the hose to make it appear that its in the rear of the engine. He said its most likely an easy fix and told me not to worry about it.

So tonight I have about 5 more wires to hook up and the air ride is finally complete. I will throw my older set of wheels on the car and drive it to my buddies shop sometime tomorrow. So if I am lucky I will have my car this weekend to finish the fender install and add the new wheels and finally be done! :)

The stereo setup is 100% complete. I made my rear bumper have a section that is carbon fiber and I painted my tailpipes black and put them in the oven to cure, they turned out amazing. I still have the front spitter, side spitters, and little rear canards to add where the carbon fiber is.
