Rear Window Separating from Headliner
I have a 2008 XK convertible. The Rear window is secure in the convertible top, but it separates from the headliner every time I lower the top. I can't seem to get the Velcro to attach completely around the window. Upholsterer said he couldn't repair it. Anyone in this group have a better suggestion.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Closely inspect the Velcro. Clean contamination.
Carefully reposition for best grip.
If that fails, overlay with adhesive backed Velcro strips available from craft stores.
Alternatively, double backed tape.
Say, 3M "extremely strong" 30# mounting tape. Lowes/Home Depot.

Many people have had convertible hood window problems, including me.
But neither my original hood window, nor my excellent replacement, has any velcro attachments.
I suspect you are dealing with a non-original replacement hood? Could you show us photos of the window and velcro arrangement?
I tried re-glueing my window to the hood twice, but just made an increasingly worse mess.
In the end, I got a new hood fitted by a trimmer in Poole at a reasonable price for what he was supplying and doing. I have been very glad that I did, although I hated throwing away an excellent, original hood in excellent condition, just because the adhesive holding the window in had failed.
I reported all the detail at the time, if you are abe to find it.
Good luck.
