Default TPMS fault after tire replacement

OK, had new tires installed end of June, Then, Saturday, I ran over something in the road. All of a sudden, Check tire pressure on right rear tire warning. Stopped at Pep Boys and they changed tire with spare, after finding
two inch gash in tire that could not be repaired. Since then, I'm getting warning that right rear tire not communicating with TPMS System, then this morning, TPMS System Fault.
This afternoon, I had new tire installed as well as TPMS sensor from the old tire. I am still getting TPMS System Fault that will not go away. Any idea what I need to do?

Did the tire installer check the sensor to verify it was still good and that the battery in it was OK. If not have it done. If it is good then the tire dealer should be able to turn off the dash warning.

Is it possible the antenna in that location was damaged by the same thing that damaged the tire?
