Wouldn't you have to buy and mount the wheels first?

I wonder if somebody could make some sort of computer animation that could show you what it would look like in motion. That would be cool!

I think these wheels look pretty cool. From far away, similar in appearance to the Senta wheels.

 

Hello everyone I like the wheels. I am curious to know what the members of the forum think of the choice that I made in reference to aftermarket wheels.

 

I like 'em, jahummer. I've been peppering my wife for the last half-hour with pictures and questions about what looks best, when finally, in exasperation, she says, "You know, I don't know why you have to change your wheels at all!"

Can you believe she said that? Geeze.

 

I'm liking them and much appreciate the level of detail that has been expended here on the subject. When choosing wheels, I look at two details:
The finish and the ease, at which, they can be cleaned.
Although chrome is a nice luxurious finish, unless superbly coated will crack over time (7-10 yrs) and result in slow leaks. Just my personal experience..
As to cleaning, there are any number of tools that make this job easy. For me, there's nothing like, a fine Saturday afternoon, bucket in hand, a favorite adult beverage by your side, and your tune box playing your favorite tunes, whilst making love to those gorgeous wheels........ Yeah, another great experience!

 

I'm sorry...just being honest since you asked I personally don't like them. They remind me of old Camaro wheels. Sorry

 

I really like those wheels on the white Benz. Great wheel that seems well made at a very fair price. Being staggered is a must. Thumbs up for me.

I like the design of the wheels but no on this car. I find as you increase wheel size it makes the brake discs look out of proportion. This has a tendency to make it look like a wagon wheel to me .

I think he means John's car, but this brings up a good point because I, too, have the XK with the smaller calipers/brakes. I was thinking of 20s, but I hesitate to expose my undersized private parts for the world to see.

What do you think, John? Is this an acceptable trade-off when you see the wheels in person? Sometimes pictures aren't very clear. And by the way, welcome to the forum and thanks for posting up!

 

Sorry I was referring to JRCOLE's post. I usually find that the OEM wheets were designed to suit the car so unless it is a special aftermarket wheel I stick with OEM. As I mentioned I like to see the brake disc in proportion to the wheel. It looks funny to me to see a small disc and a large wheel. I have seen 20" or 22" wheels but with a big brake package which looks balanced.

 

Do you still feel great about the Braelin wheels you purchased? i am looking at their BR06 wheels and wanted to know if you are still happy with them. Trying to find a US distributor, though.

Yes, I am extremely well pleased with the Braelin Wheels. I worked closely with FastCo.ca and the Director of Technical Operations Ian Pavelko to get these wheels made for me. The Braelin BR02 were custom milled for my Jaguar XKR with the Alcon Brakes.

You will probably not find a US vendor, but would need to go to the 1010tire.com website and order them via 1010tire.com. The Braelin's are made in Montreal, Canada then they would be shipped from the vendor 1010 to the USA as mine were via UPS.

The Braelin wheels are a great value for the cost, and will be a perfect fitment for the Jaguar.

The alternative to the Braelin BR06 wheel, is the Ace Alloy Wheel Mesh 7...... identical to the BR06 and will you be able to find these at a USA vendor. Discount Tire can secure the Ace Alloy Mesh 7 wheels for you. You need to make sure you have the proper bolt pattern, offsets, and center bore.

I like the wheel it looks great. What I can't see is the size of the rotor . That's what makes it or breaks it for me. What does the side view look like. Are the rotors proportional to the wheels meaning is the gap between the rotor and the wheel small as opposed to being large and looking like a wagon wheel.

 

If you look at the "FS in classified" post of the gray coupe when you look at the side view the wheels and rotors "fit". It balances out both the rotors and the wheels. That is the look I like .

The Coventry Whitney wheels are a very nice attractive wheel. I ordered a set for my 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition, but because I have the $5000 option of Alcon brakes with oversized calipers and rotors the Coventry Whitney did have the proper fitment. That is why I ended up with the Braelin BR02 wheels that were milled specifically for the proper fitment of the Alcon Brake system.

If I had standard brakes as found on the XK and XKR without the Alcon brakes, the Whitney would have been on my XKR.

Nice looking wheels for sure, the Coventry Whitney that is.

Jahummer, not a fan of those wheels at all. Not a fan of chrome and I feel that style is not for the X150 at all... you asked there ya go
