One of the small sliding plastic panels (there is one on each side of car just behing the door) that opens and closes when you raise and lower the roof keeps malfunctioning. I don't know why they have trouble getting it to stay fixed. So overall I am very pleased with the quality.

Probably because to repair it entirely means the whole expensive trim panel has to be replaced. It is a simple string and a spring. BMW had that type of cover thing on the old 3 series 90's (E36). I think those were problematic as well.

Flapjack and a cigarette ;)

Wonder how his SL550 experience is progressing........

LOL. I doubt very seriously that it will be the perfect car for him either. Perfect cars do not exist and if you're unwilling to work within the manufacturer's warranty framework you're going to be disappointed.

One issue on my 2012 XKR just under 1800 miles. The touch screen controls for the Sat Radio stop working after 5-20min of driving. But ONLY for the sat radio...everything else, including AM/FM, iPod, etc...all work perfect.

Going into the dealer Friday morning, the tech did not seem surprised when I went over the issue with him.
