XKR exhaust tip - OEM upgrade anyone?

Anyone out there put the new OEM chrome tips onto a current XKR?
Do they look better and are they any larger than standard XKR exhaust finishers?

did not know there was an optional tip. My '13 came with fairly big ones. Are there bigger and better ones? Bigger is always better!!!

the OEM part number is C2P17999 - around $400 I reckon from UK suppliers. Haven't got an answerback to a query about how much larger they are than stock tips yet.

You can also look into aftermarket tips. I did magnaflow rolled tips on my Rover and looks much better than stock. Cut and weld is needed though.

Oem tailpipe finisher did the trick
 

Got the oem quad tailpipe finisher from duckworth parts in uk. Look great, and finish off the rear view of the xkr nicely. Best of all they keep much cleaner than the stainless steel pipes as the black exhaust soot ends up hidden inside the fold in the new tips and is not visible externally. Add about 12 mm to the width of the pipes so are as large as can fit into rear space as possible. A worthwhile addition that finishes off the aesthetics nicely.

I like the looks, but sadly we 1st gen XK owners can't add them without a new rear valance (our openings only fit a single pipe passing through).

Was looking at the Borlas as a possibility as well.

A new XKR valance for 07 t0 10 cars is avail cheep.I was able to replace my XK valance with an XKR valance with little truoble. No paint, no cutting, just bolt it on. Perhaps the same solution is avail for you guys with later issue XKs?

Yep, that sounds about right.

You may also cut a section out of the middle of your old XK valance and move the two ends toward the center. It requires some skill and leaves a cut seam in the middle that must be dealt with but you end up with perfectly formed exhaust openings for a quad system. But for $40 to $200, why fool around with that?

The valence between the pipes has changed year-by-year, more than you might think. These differences - and the age of the part - contribute to the price difference.

The 07 valence is black plastic, unpainted and relatively small.

The 08 valence is a little larger and, I believe, painted (so it will come primed, something the factory charges you for).

I then lost track on the year-by-year changes, but the 10+ have a relatively large (compared to 07 and 08) valence that is painted and has been reshaped.

It may be what we call a "jobbers" price ( a discount offered profesionals in the repair industry), but you shoud be close to that when talking to any of our forum sponcers.

Quad pipes
 

It is possible to fit twin (or quad pipes) to a first gen XKR. I see clever name was struggling earlier in the thread. These are the ones fitted to my 1999. They are made by adamesh, and are stainless And they make a great noiseAttachment 39607
They fit the standard hole with no cutting of the valance.

I know this post is over 2 years old but does anyone know if you remove the stock finishers and replace with accessory finishers or do they fit over the stock finishers? Also, do they change the exhaust note to any degree?
