Default xk120 steering box

My xk120 box is working well but leaking oil a little too much. So time to change gaskets and see if that helps.
Can any one help me with the spanner size required to undo the large nut on the underside of the steering box? It measures about 34mmm.
Thanks
Chas

I'm not sure when Jaguar converted from BSF/Whitworth threads to UNF/UNC. However it is likely a UNF spanner or socket will fit. Convert the 34 mm to the Imperial size and measure up what you've got in the tool box. 34mm is 1.34 inches so you need a socket of 1 5/16". That is quite a big spanner or socket and you'll no doubt have to buy one specially for the job, as most socket sets don't have the larger sizes
