Default Mudflaps?

Can anyone post some pics of a XK8/R with factory mudflaps? I had them on my MR2's and XJ in the past and they looked and worked good. But, I am afraid they would detract from the looks of the roadster. Any comments/pics? Thanks! MC

The first Jaguar accessory brochure for the XK8 in 1996 illustrates them on a red convertible. It's against a black backgound and I can't get a good enough scan of the picture to show just how bad they look!

Brochure listing is:

JLM 20090 - Front
JLM 20091 - Rear

It describes them as 'Splash Guards - a stylish yet robust set of moulded guards'.

Says it all when these haven't appeared in later accessory brochures. There's aftermarket ones listed on eBay which are likely to look even more hideous.

Some Jag's rust, some don't, but most of them that do don't have mudflaps!

Actually being up here in Farm company with lots of 'spillage' on the roads near the house I would love to have some if they were as small and tasteful as the rear splash guards for the wheel arches.

Yes not that pretty but then neither is 'scheisse' and mud splattered on the lower fenders and doors every time I go anywhere.

If anyone knows of some of those despite their abhorrence to them please let me know.

How about some of these for our Southern Brethern?

These would look a treat on Alag's Frosty and GGG's Bluie or the Count's Emerald City Special....hey his PBTW is out of town for ten days he can fit them before she gets back.....that should distract her from seat towels. I am sure that SteveinFrance needs these for the driveway to his Ranch.

Whether you are just driving down the city or down the countryside there’s bound to be some punishment to your car. Some of this could be seen on the under chassis and the sides of your. Thus your car needs protection from the mud, debris or water that your wheels churn up.
Mud flaps used to be simple designs and were not really made of tough materials. They were mostly rubber and wore drab colors, usually gray or black. Today’s mud flaps have evolved and even have some aerodynamic role. The design is sleek, sophisticated, and with different types of colors and designs to choose from. The materials nowadays are sturdier and most importantly they are easy to maintain and clean. Some are easy to install and remove in case you need to clean it up for hard sticking debris. Mud flaps can be racy, sporty or even have logo designs to match your car’s complete exterior look.

Wouldn't you guys just love to be racy and sporty again?

cheers,

jj

I knew you guys couldn't resist the tassels!

They will be covered in mud so the imprint doesn't really matter though you could have it personalized with what ever kind of toilet you like.

Seems like a good time for LED light strings eh what?

Hey when you run a google image search for Jaguar XK Mud Flaps the Rev. Sam's car comes up on page 6.

Busted Rev.!!!

If you could add your thoughts on an illuminated leaper on the hood, it could well go viral.
