I have the opportunity to purchase an 01' XKR with 50k for $12,800, but I would have to do it remotely. I have talked to the Jag dealer that serviced the car, and it has had no major issues. Is this a fair price, and has anyone else bought remotely and come out okay?

 

It is still best to get an independent inspection. Definitely get a Carfax report. You should at least have lots of clear, detailed photos.

Where is it located? Maybe a knowledgeable forum member who is nearby would be willing to have a look for you?

 

Price is very reasonable. Is there a service history? Have plastic tensioners been replaced, if not, you can figure an additional $1500 or so to replace unless you do it yourself. I have bought about half a dozen cars remotely, some very good, some not so good. Suggest having someone look at it for you so there is no disappointment. Where is the car located?

Car is in Georgia. I am in Texas. I am aware of the tensioner issue. I am hoping motorcarman is still with us on the forum. He is locale and replaced them on my current XK8. Just got additional pics and the driver booster is fairly worn. Not unexpected, but disappointing. Car starts right up and sounds great per video.
