I know this is probably a very long shot but a very early XK8 Convertible with the reg no. P888CAT is currently for sale and I just wondered if a previous owner or someone who knows of the car is a forum member?

It is very sadly being offered for sale due to bereavement. I owned an early XK8 many years ago and have been considering getting one again but now they are well over 20 years of age!! (Where did that time go! It doesn't seem that long ago I was looking at a brand new one at the Motor Show!) I'd only really consider one I knew the history of, regarding problems/issues/timing chain tensioners etc etc

Sketchy service history, personally I think it is a restoration project, a big one! and about top money at £1200
I suppose the plate is worth £250-£500, but with the visible Corrosion on top, god knows what underneath and the associated rust traps are like?
To summarise, it is a breaker or an extremely brave(and £££&#128580 project 👍😉

 

you can check the MOT history on line for free .just google DVLA and put in the reg
that will tell you what work has been done on it.
