1999 xk8 will it play a burned cd?
My '98 xk8 plays CD's that I burn myself. When you burn the CD, it should not be burned as a data CD, and there is a sequence at the end of the process to finalize the CD. If you remove it too soon, it will not work either. (Having an old CD player in the house helps, since I can test it before I try to use it.)
There is also a few cheap MP3 options that works not too bad either.. I don't like the CD changer in the trunk/boot, since I have to stop to replace CD's.

I have always been able to play burned CDs in all the players I own. If your writer is OK there shouldn't be a problem.
The only problem I have had is that most players do not like the re-writeable (CD/RW)type discs.
Have you tried the disc in another stand alone CD/DVD player?
