2000 XK8 Cluster Issue
Hi All,
Well I'm pulling my last real hair out of my head. Three good clusters in, and two more questionable ones I'm having a pretty steady problem. The Information Center of the instrument cluster is normally out or very dim.
If i smack the top of the dash in areas around the cluster it will brighten up momentarily, and occasionally stay on for a day or two. I have cleaned both connectors and the pins on the circuit board. I have LED lights in the cluster.
If I tap on either connector it doesn't do anything. The only other issue I know of is I don't get a High Beam light on any of the good clusters. I'm wondering if there is a bad or shorted wire under the dash.
Any ideas are appreciated!
Much thanks,
erjent

more than likely a 'dry' electrical connection, if hitting the dash causes the cluster to momentarily work, albeit not that well, then it's definitely an issue close by, try removing cleaning and reseating the fuses for the cluster.
