I've been digging thru the stories here looking for an answer to a question about Body Processing Modules and part numbers.
Lots of the electronic parts on my 2003 XKR car have a "G" at the end of the first 3 letters. Where on replacement parts I have been looking at will be identical except that 3rd letter "G". Like,,, the Body Processing Module. Is it a XK'R' thing?
For instance.
The BPM I'm looking for is LJ"G"2500CA. Not easy to find. But I can find a ton of LJ"E"2500XX/XXX. Where the suffixes represent supersession. It's driving me nuts. The BPM without the G will come out of a convertible and most other features dealing with functioning of the body are pretty much identical between a 2003 XKR and XK8 - or even XKR to XKR... Missing the G.
Is there something in the 2003 Convertible 4.2 S/C XKR BPM that makes it different than the 2003 4.2 XK8 Convertible BPM?
Are there BPMs that I can use for my 2003 XKR very in the US market?
In my Google search using "LJ*G*2500CA" this thing popped up with that part number as the title of the search result, I open it to find "LJE2500AC" with XKR written on the cover.
I know it could just be an error on the part of the folks posting the listing but,,,, I guess my question is are they really that different and is a BPM with a G the only thing the XKR will accept?
The one you have linked is marked "02 XKR 4.0", hence pre-2003 MY.
I'm not sure that the sellers are always aware of the subtleties (at least this one acknowledges his uncertainty).
The LJG.... part # shows as valid for *all* 4.2 - there's no distinction in JEPC between coupe/conv or 8/R so I guess any variations are programmed when the module is installed.
