Is this an acceptable gas cap?

I just bought a new gas cap and all the stuff around it.
The cap looks a bit off as the bottom should be flat for a magnet attach to the release hatch. Also, there should be a tether. The theyjer doesn't age well so many have removed it.
If the cap seals, and you don't care, then it's ok. Gas Cap was like $30.

Since I am still tracking down an evap leak, I probably should give a new cap a try. Much cheaper than other pieces. Thanks. I know my 1998 XK8 had a cap as you described.
