Accidentally stumbled across the culprit to my recent event
Some of you recall, I was driving my car about 3 weeks ago, when suddenly the serpentine belt snapped while driving on the highway.
After some head-scratching, a new belt was installed and all is good.
Well yesterday, I noticed a few drops of oil under my car in garage.
I bring to where I had the oil change and asked to see if the drain plug was loose.
Turns out the filter was loose a bit and problem fixed.
HOWEVER, while under the car, I noticed something hanging from the compressor.
Apparently I must have run over a piece of weather stripping, and it somehow lodged itself and wrapped around the compressor. It probably caused the belt to jump the pulley and the rest is history.
I pulled out the weather strip and possibly avoided another drama fest .

Good catch....
With cars as low as these, it never hurts to get down on the pavement and have a good look around underneath the car. Low-riding vehicles are so much more susceptible to road debris damage than typical SUVs and pickup trucks are....
