Default Beer Can Solution for Console Latch

My catch for the console lid was broken. The catch was still there but down farther then it should be. Took it apart (just 2 screws) and it's a catch with 2 long plastic legs. It was broken on both sides of the catch. Glue would never hold...so I took a beer can and cut it to the length of the whole catch minus the screw holes. (about 3 1/2 inches). I then cut it into a "H" pattern with the catch being the inside measurement of the H.
The legs of the H (both top and bottom) were about 5/8 inch. Wrapping the lenghts around the broken off tabs and screw the whold works back in. The way it is constructed holds the aluminum piece in place and raises the ctch and gives it a little spring. This is the first time I've fixed something on this car that only cost me a beer. I'd post pictures but I don't think I have permission yet. May I do...working on it.

Creative...So, let's see...You were agonizing over the broken lid while enjoying a fine libation on a hot summer day when suddenly, a moment of sheer genius came over you...Nice shoes too!
