Default Boot won't open with fob or interior switch

Hello there...
My 2000 XK8 has decided to not let me into the boot using the interior switch or the fob.

I hear an electrical/solenoid sound at the rear when I try, but no opening.

Using the key in the 'XK8' badge works.
Battery fully charged.

Any suggestions please???

Roy.

The latch is most likely dirty and/or needs a bit of lubrication. I used electronics cleaner on mine while it was still in working order, and then made the mistake of closing the trunk lid before spraying any White Lithium Spray Lubricant on the latch mechanism, the same thing happened in that the dash switch would no longer open the trunk, but the key would.

After I opened the trunk with the key, and applied the Lithium Spray to the latch, I closed the latch by hand, and quickly locked and unlocked the latch with one hand on the key and the other locking the latch. This allowed the spray grease to distribute across the latch, and I continued to apply more spray grease, as needed, until it opened without effort.
