A bore scope has long been on my tool box want list but always pretty far down due to the cost. They have fallen under $100 but that is still pretty steep for a seldom used hobby tool.

This morning I got a link to a bore scope that connects to an Android phone or a PC for $8. That is for a 1m cable, $14 for a 3.5m cable. The resolution is 640x480 which should be fine for phone or PC. That will print a 4x6 photo without seeing pixels.

Now, I have to verify my LG phone is compatible.

Sure, its from China but so is every one that I have seen.

 

Here's a pc type I saw on the forum a year or more ago, can also adapt to phone, I think. I may order it as I don't have a smart phone.

 

I got one of these a while ago. 640x480 definition is fine and plugs into your laptop so you can record also.
