brembo brake calipers

I've been told that the steel plate which holds the brake pad has risen up due to corrosion underneath it. Where is the best place to rectify this problem.....I live in Manchester

Is that the steel plates top and bottom (arrowed in red) that the pad backing plate slides on?

As you can see from the photo, the top left of this caliper is showing corrosion but there's no distortion of the steel plate. Just how bad are yours?

Hi,
Yes, there are 2 steel plates above and below the pad. The corrosion under the plates is lifting the plate and causing the pad to stick, resulting in a loud noise on braking

I didn't take too much notice of the plates on mine other than cleaning the calipers before fitting new discs and pads. Are the plates riveted on or secured with set screws?

they are screwed on....unfortunately, the screw is tiny and gets corroded, so is a nightmare to remove...often needing drilling out. This is why I'm looking for a brake expert (near manchester england)

Try Classic Brakes at Chelford in Cheshire.

It's a while since I've needed calipers rebuilt but he did a superb job on my Aston Martin DB5 brakes and I've heard good reports about him since then.
