Can the upper ball joint be replaced in situ?
Today, I was cleaning in my garage and found, in a box, a pair of new upper ball joints. I then remembered that I had not replaced them the first time around when I did the bushes because the balljoints seemed to be in good conditions. It is the only part of my front suspension that has not been replaced. Can the upper ball joints be pressed out and new ones pressed in using a c-clamp style press without removing the upper wishbone from the car?
If the answer is no, then I will have to procure a socket and a wrench that fit the fulcrum bolt. Last time I borrowed one from a friend. I would prefer buying the appropriate one in this case. What size socket and wrench do I need? I think it may be 23 mm?
