Control arm bushings

I have a 2003 XK8 and have been told I need new front lower control arm bushings. Can this be done without removing the control arms from the car?

Welcome to the forum bryaneva11,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Although you've been a member for over three years, I see you have yet to post an Intro. Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Bryaneva, Yes you will have to remove the arm from the vehicle. It is not an overly complicated process for the lower.
Below is a forum post for a recent bushing replacement that will give you a pretty good idea of what you are looking at.

The Arms aren't hard to remove. They can be a little tricky to get back in.

If the suspension is original, I'd be surprised if it was just the lower bushings. Those were the only good parts on my front end. The uppers, balljoints, inner tierods and shock mounts were all toast.
