Drivers Door lock effecting alarm.
Hello oh wise ones!
I've been reading that there is a security micro switch within the drivers door lock mechanism, that fires up the alarm system when you lock the car using the key- (key fob itself o.k. but doesn't work anything so have to use door key), anyway when I then unlock the door via the key and open the door, I get about 10 seconds with beeps before the alarm goes off.
I believe the micro switch is known to be a failing device and can cause this problem ?????
I took the card off the drivers door as well as the seal plastic cover but noted that whether the window is up or down, it blocks access to the lock mechanism through one of the metal door cut-outs. Anybody please tell me how to go about getting at this "switch"?
The car is a Coupe X100 Xk8 year 2000.
