Just as I was hoping to spend $ on fun things (sway bars, bushings, cherry bombs), it turns out I have some boring maintenance to have done.

My front oil cooling lines to and from the front radiator are leaking steadily and I'm told that it is degrading my bushings. My front right roll bar bushing is seriously torn anyway. In addition, my mechanic thinks another leak is coming from the power steering line.

1. Cost for the front cooling lines and the power steering line is looking like $900 total for parts and labor. Half of that is parts alone. Mechanic is checking alternate part sources that forum members suggested. Does this price seem appropriate?

2. While the mechanic is there, should I have anything else done?

I'm not sure about the oil lines, but the power steering line on the passenger side (right above the swaybar bushing) can be repaired for a few dollars. I just cut out the part that was leaking and replace it with 3/8 hose, a hose barb, and hose clamps.

If you really need the oil lines, check ebay.

I replaced the oil cooler line, the rear 1/2 of it myself in 1.5 hours (also passenger side) and paid $107 plus shipping from a forum sponsor dealer. The sway bar bushing is also a very easy DIY with parts at $14 each, max. You get into way more money if the fluid has degraded the bushing in the lower control arm.
