Having a tough time finding a shop in houston
Hello new owner of a 1998 xr8 convert - nice ride just hit 60k miles need to replace
the secondary cam chain tensioners - but age has caught up with me and can't do the work any longer - having a tough time finding a shop the will do this very document process in Houston, Tx |

feel like drive to katy don't need to get anywhere near houston just down i35 through college station

Thank you to this forum for all the posts on these secondary cam tensioners.
Got the car back today these were to the time bomb stage with cracks in the factory plastic - do wonder what committee decided plastic right there in the path was a good idea - clearly 60k miles was too far to go - maybe 30k anyway glad those are out. thanks |

The factory warranty in the early to mid 2000s was 4 years 50K miles.
I left the dealer in 2006 and it was this way for years. You could get an extended warranty from Jaguar if you had it 'certified' before the warranty ran out. |
i know that you're correct just engineer to warranty - but given when and how deep I was in the
auto industry of mostly the 60's some 70's I still have a hard time remembering it- then if it broke just past warranty you'd never could sell it in the first place - different times |
