Default Having a tough time finding a shop in houston

Hello new owner of a 1998 xr8 convert - nice ride just hit 60k miles need to replace
the secondary cam chain tensioners - but age has caught up with me and can't
do the work any longer - having a tough time finding a shop the will do this very
document process in Houston, Tx

How far is motorcarman's shop from Houston?

I’ve, done my whole chain and tensioner set . I have the t correct tools ect…
$750 plus parts at cost. Tensioners and valve cover gaskets. (Xk8 only not XKR)I’m in San Antonio ( independent) Scott 2104106031

feel like drive to katy don't need to get anywhere near houston just down i35 through college station

Thank you to this forum for all the posts on these secondary cam tensioners.
Got the car back today these were to the time bomb stage with cracks in the
factory plastic - do wonder what committee decided plastic right there in the
path was a good idea - clearly 60k miles was too far to go - maybe 30k anyway
glad those are out. thanks

Your tensioners have lasted 27 years without failing. I think the original Jaguar warranty was 3 years/60,000 miles, so it looks to me that the committee over engineered those tensioners by a factor of 10.

The factory warranty in the early to mid 2000s was 4 years 50K miles.
I left the dealer in 2006 and it was this way for years.

You could get an extended warranty from Jaguar if you had it 'certified' before the warranty ran out.

i know that you're correct just engineer to warranty - but given when and how deep I was in the
auto industry of mostly the 60's some 70's I still have a hard time remembering it- then if it broke
just past warranty you'd never could sell it in the first place - different times
